Journalling Prompts: Who Am I?
Journal Prompts to Reconnect with Yourself
Life has a way of pulling us in a million directions. Somewhere between caring for others, juggling responsibilities, and chasing goals, it’s easy to lose sight of who you are. For many women this realisation hits hard: Who am I anymore?
If you’re feeling unsure of your identity or struggling to connect with the woman you’ve become, these journal prompts are here to guide you back to yourself.
These prompts are designed to help you reflect, rediscover, and reconnect with the person you are at your core. Use them as a safe space to explore your thoughts, dreams, and desires without judgment. Whether you write a few sentences or pour your heart onto the page, every word brings you closer to understanding who you are.
Reflecting on the Past:
What did you love to do as a child that you’ve stopped doing? Why did you stop, and how can you bring it back into your life?
Think about a time when you felt most like yourself. What were you doing, and what about that moment felt true to you?
Write about a time you overcame a challenge. What did it teach you about your strength and values?
Who were you before life got busy? What were your dreams, passions, and goals back then?
Understanding The Present:
What’s one thing you’ve been doing recently that feels out of alignment with who you are? Why do you keep doing it?
What three words best describe how you feel about yourself right now? Expand on why you chose these words.
What do you need more of in your life to feel like the best version of yourself? What do you need less of?
What parts of yourself have you been neglecting, and how can you begin nurturing them again?
Looking Ahead:
If you could design your ideal day, what would it look like? How does it reflect the real you?
Who do you want to be one year from now? Describe her in detail - her mindset, her habits, her energy.
What’s one dream you’ve been putting off? What’s holding you back from pursuing it?
What does happiness mean to you now, and how has your definition changed over time?
Digging Deeper:
What are your core values? How do these values show up in your everyday life?
What do you love most about yourself, and why? If this feels hard to answer, explore why that might be.
Who inspires you, and what about them resonates with you? How can you bring those qualities into your own life?
If you could give a letter to your younger self, what would you say? What advice, encouragement, or comfort would you offer her?
How To Use These Prompts:
You don’t have to tackle all these prompts at once. Pick one that speaks to you and let your thoughts flow onto the page. You might find that one answer leads to another question, guiding you deeper into self-discovery.
This is your time to explore, reflect, and reconnect. You’re still in there - under the layers of responsibilities and expectations just waiting to be seen. These journal prompts are your starting point to unearth her.
So grab your favourite pen, find a quiet spot, and start writing. It’s time to come home to yourself.
Much love, Tess Xx
